Communicators

Where keys check in. Audit up, permissions down, in one touch.

Communicators link CyberKeys to CyberAudit-Web. Each update downloads the key's audit trail and writes its new permissions, schedule and expiry at the same time.

Communicators are the interface between the hardware and CyberAudit-Web. A CyberKey only knows what it was last told, and only reports what it has done when it is next updated; communicators are where that happens: a desktop station in the office, a weatherised keyport at the site entrance, or a phone in the engineer's pocket.

When a key meets a communicator the transfer runs both ways at once. The key's timestamped log of every access event goes up to the software; new permissions, schedules and expiry dates come down to the key. Require regular updates with short expiries, and temporary access stays temporary.

Communicators connect to CyberAudit-Web over a local network, the internet or a computer's USB port, so they can sit wherever keys naturally pass: the depot, the gatehouse or the van.

What it does

1

Both ways, one touch

Audit trail up and new permissions down in a single update.

2

Keypad authoriser

The AKG2R-01 networked authoriser keyport, in black powder-coated cast aluminium for installation indoors or out.

3

Expiry with teeth

Short expiries and regular updates keep a contractor's access as temporary as the contract.

4

Fits your network

Local network, internet or USB, placed wherever keys already pass.

Types

03.1

Desktop

USB stations update and charge keys from a computer. IR encoders program infrared keys. The WebStation 2 joins the network over Ethernet.

03.2

Remote

Authorizer keyports are weatherised units that update keys over a network connection with no computer on site. Web stations mount on a wall or sit on a desk. The Flex System keyport is a communicator and part of the Flex System for wired access control.

03.3

Mobile

CyberKey Blue and Air update over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi through the Cyber Access app, so permissions can change on the way to the job.

Questions

What people ask first.

Something else? Ask us directly.

How do keys talk to the software?

Through a communicator. When a key makes contact, its audit trail is downloaded while new schedules, permissions and system information are written to it. Communicators reach CyberAudit-Web over a local network or securely over the internet.

Can a keyport go outside?

Yes. The AKG2R-01 keypad authoriser is weather-resistant, in powder-coated cast aluminium, for indoor and outdoor installation.

Why make keys come back to a communicator?

Because that is when expiries bite. Set keys to expire and require users to re-authorise at a keyport, and long-term access for temporary users simply runs out.
